I liked getting enough exercise as a toddler and wanted to make sure I was amazing to others. So, that's what I chose, gymnastics classes but not on a team so I could live a normal life and work on being cool. I got to start at age 1 3/4. The starting age can be anything,1 1/2 where I was in Southeastern Florida, in the county right above Miami. My mom got me in ballet at 5 and I took it a little growing up, but I'm not good at memorizing steps.
So, none of the schools I went to had orchestra. I wanted to play violin at 6. I never got around to it. I averted band because it didn't have violin. I already was occupied and too young to worry.
A lot of people who do orchestra, or band, just seem lucky their school has it. I took it as a group class as a music major in college my first year at 18. I took lessons for 2 years from 3 different teachers. I just took off to teach myself so I can polish my work and pace and accelerate myself.
My goal is to get good at it and my wish is to live in Germany and learn German and watch orchestra there and maybe be in one. I don't like violin concertos, anyway.
